Our Veterinarians

Dr. Allison Wansky

Dr. Wansky

Dr. Wansky has been with the practice since 1994, working at our sister hospitals, Etowah and Trickum Ridge, until helping to open Allatoona in 1998. She graduated from The University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 1991. She is married and has 2 children, Skyler and Sam. Her furry family includes Bart (Pit Bull), Stella (Lab mix) and Big Mac the cat. In addition to general medicine and surgery, she has a special interest in holistic medicine and is certified in Veterinary Acupuncture. Dr. Wansky also volunteers at Good Mews, a no-kill cat shelter in Cobb County.

 

 

 

Dr. Gina Smith

Dr. Smith

Dr. Smith has been with us since June 2007. She is a native Georgian, raised in Atlanta’s southern suburbs. She received her B.S. degree from Clayton State University and her D.V.M. from The University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. In addition to general medicine, her special interests include oncology and surgery. In her free time, Dr. Smith enjoys traveling and camping with her husband Gene and their two canine children, Indy (Lab) and Boo (Shar Pei).

 

 

 

 

Dr. Jennifer Hiland

Dr. HilandDr. Hiland started with our practice as a veterinary assistant in 1996. She worked through high school and on breaks during college, rotating between our three hospitals. After finishing her undergraduate work at The University of Georgia, she attended veterinary school at St. George's University in Grenada, West Indies. Dr. Hiland started as a veterinarian here in June of 2007. She has since worked between Allatoona and Trickum Ridge, settling full time at Allatoona in late 2008. She has two dogs: Sashimi (Boston Terrier mix) and Bear (Great Pyrenees). She also has two cats, Chops and Marmalade, and a horse, Buckshot. In her free time Dr. Hiland enjoys horseback riding and traveling. In addition to general surgery and medicine, she has an interest in ultrasound.

 

Dr. Everette Bannister

Dr. BannisterDr. Bannister has been with us since June 2007. He was born in Nassau, Bahamas, but also raised in Bermuda. He received his Bachelors of Science at Stetson University in DeLand, Florida and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University in the West Indies. His clinical year was completed at The University of Georgia. His professional interests include surgery, practice management, and internal medicine. Outside of work he enjoys playing the bass guitar, riding motorcycles, and reading.
